Weir use of “langsam”

In a sentence such as

  • “Ich frage mich langsam, wenn die Burger endlich serviert werden”

and

  • “Mir ist langsam langweilig”.

Does this use of langsam function like “beginning to” or “starting to”, as in “I’m starting to wonder when the burgers will be served”?

  1. Yes, exactly… the examples you suggested would be:

    – I am starting to ask myself, whether the burgers will be served at all.
    – I (slowly) start to be bored.

This use of “langsam” is very common and widespread… so whenever “slow” doesn’t really make much sense… it is probably this langsam:)
